Joan A. Bright, loved traveling

Joan A. Bright, 91, of Miton passed away peacefully in her home Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021. Joan was born in Fort Wayne, Ind., daughter to the late Charles F. and Virginia (Stahl) Hilker.  

Joan loved to play bingo, cards and Keno.  She loved traveling, and eating out with family and friends.  She resided in several states, and enjoyed several years when she and her family lived in Cape Town, South Africa.  

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Robert P. Schulte and James W. Bright; a son, William D. Schulte; five brothers, William, Richard, Paul, Howard and Donald Hilker.  

Joan is survived by her six loving children; a daughter, Diana M. Kemler; and sons, James M. (Suzanne) Schulte, Thomas E. (Frances) Schulte, Donald A. Schulte, Kenneth R. (Jeanine) Schulte and Dennis R. Schulte; and a daughter-in-law, Rebecca (wife of the late William D. Schulte).  She is also blessed with 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

All services will be held privately at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Joan’s home parish, St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE 19958.
