Kellie Ann Hall, dedicated educator
Kellie Ann (Tidwell) Hall, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and Nana, peacefully went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 8, 2024, surrounded by much love and family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 54 years old.
She was born Aug. 31, 1969, cherished daughter of Daniel and Joanne Tidwell of Georgetown. Kellie was a graduate of Sussex Central High School, where she met her husband of almost 32 years, Charles “Chuck” Hall, and they both went on to attend University of North Carolina at Charlotte. They were wed in August 1992 and from that union were blessed with two wonderful daughters, Emily and Rachel.
Kellie was a highly respected and dedicated educator of 30 years, all of which were spent teaching first grade at East Millsboro Elementary School. Kellie went on to complete her master's degree in education from Wilmington University and touched the lives of generations of students who often shared stories when seeing her around town. Kellie could always spot a former student from a mile away, call them by their name, and give a funny story or two about something they might have done in her class. Her dedication to education did not stop in the classroom; she spent a large portion of her personal time assisting with PTO and mentoring programs.
Family and God were at the center of Kellie’s life but her biggest accomplishment was being a mother and Nana. Kellie spent years sitting in the lobby of Dance Alley and traveling to several dance competitions with Emily, and then later found her passion of traveling up and down the East Coast watching Rachel play softball. In 2019, Kellie earned the title Nana to Addison and again in May 2024 to Carson, children of Emily and Tyler, both of who were the light of her life and whom gave her great purpose and strength during her illness.
Kellie will always be remembered for her love of the beach and all things Christmas.
Kellie is survived by her husband, Chuck; her daughters, Emily (Tyler) Wright and Rachel of Millsboro; her brother, Jamie (Carrie) Tidwell of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and her parents, Daniel and Joanne Tidwell of Georgetown. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends. Kellie is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, George P. and Hazel Tidwell; and maternal grandparents, Cleve and Artie Calloway.
In lieu of flowers, the family will be collecting donations of children’s books to be donated to local schools in her memory. Books can be brought to the services or dropped off at Chuck’s State Farm Agency, 29787 John J. Williams Highway, Unit 1, Millsboro.
A celebration of life will be held at noon, Thursday, July 18, at East Millsboro Elementary School, Millsboro. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon.
Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home & Crematorium.
