Kim Suzanne H. Ezell, loved her family

May 18, 2022

Kim Suzanne H. Ezell (Harer), 75, of Rehoboth Beach passed away peacefully with family by her side Tuesday, May 10, 2022, after a brief battle with lymphoma.

Kim was born in Portsmouth, Va., Aug. 1, 1946, to William and Eleanor Harer (Snyder). Her family relocated to State College, Pa. Kim attended Penn State University, married, and moved to Delaware. After her business career was cut short by a disabling illness in the early ‘80s, Kim became a tireless advocate in the battle against HIV/AIDS.

Kim was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Pamel H. Root; as well as her husbands, Larry Ezell and Frank Maher.

Kim is survived by her daughter, Ashley Irwin; beloved granddaughters, Hailey and Carli Irwin; nephew, Trevor Root (Kenji); and brother-in-law, Frank Root.

Kim loved her family and friends fiercely, and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed going to the beach, traveling, and collecting seashells, crystals and rocks shaped like hearts. Kim made many wonderful memories with her family and friends, and was loved by all.

A Celebration of Kim’s Life will be held from noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 4, at 219 Philadelphia St., Rehoboth Beach. We hope family and friends will attend and share their love and memories of her.
