Larence Kirby to address Delaware Veterans Coalition May 22
Larence Kirby, executive director of the Delaware Commission of Veterans Affairs, will address the bimonthly meeting of the Delaware Veterans Coalition at 7 p.m., Monday, May 22, at FOP Lodge #3, 1540 Kitts Hummock Road, Dover.
Kirby advises members of the Veterans Commission, legislative officials, and service agencies on issues impacting 78,000 Delaware veterans. He also advises on programs addressing veteran mental health, homelessness, and employment. His presentation will include services offered by the commission, and a Q&A session.
He retired from active duty as an Air Force command chief master sergeant. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for actions in Afghanistan and has selflessly identified hundreds of Iraq and Afghanistan casualties at Dover's Air Force Port Mortuary.
Kirby holds two master’s degrees, one in counseling and one in education, and he is working toward his PhD in human and social services. He is also a licensed professional counselor of mental health, licensed to practice in Delaware.
The Delaware Veterans Coalition is a statewide, nonprofit, 501(c)3 lobbying organization that advocates with elected and appointed public officials on issues that affect all generations of Delaware veterans. It was tributed by the Delaware Legislature on its fifth anniversary in May 2016. The coalition's slogan is: Veterans are our only business.
