Leigh Lingo to play lax at Virginia Tech

Worcester Preparatory School senior Leigh Lingo of Rehoboth Beach signed her National Letter of Intent to play Division I women’s lacrosse at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. Lingo was honored at a ceremony Nov. 9 at school surrounded by her family, coaches and school administrators. In addition to being in the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society, Lingo’s impressive record includes U.S. Lacrosse All-American, ESIAC Player of the Year in both lacrosse and basketball as well as all-conference in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse. This month, Lingo was named a School Winner in Wendy’s High School Heisman for her dedication in the classroom, on the field and within the community.  WPS Director of Athletics Matt McGinnis added, “It has been amazing to watch Leigh Lingo develop over the last four years as a student-athlete. Because of her relentless effort and amazing work ethic, she now has a chance to take her academic and athletic talents to the next level.
