Each November, Lewes Community Garden sponsors a Thanksgiving food drive.
This year, the donations went to the Milton Community Food Pantry. Gardeners and volunteers gathered for the final garden workday, bringing food items and grocery store gift cards.
During the growing season, gardeners donated 415 pounds of extra produce to several local organizations including Teach a Person to Fish Society and the Community Resource Center in Rehoboth Beach.
Giving back to the community has been a core mission at Lewes Community Garden since its inception. For more information or to volunteer, donate or join, go to lewescommunitygarden.org.
