Lewes Historical Society announces winner of Steve Rogers painting

Herky Billings of Milford won the Lewes Historical Society Lewes Christmas Tour raffle for an original winter holiday painting by Lewes artist Steve Rogers. Billings purchased his winning ticket at the society’s museum store, which Billings said he and his wife Sharon love for its selection of beautiful art and jewelry. He also said this artwork is particularly appreciated, as his son Jesse is a launch captain, like the one depicted in the painting.

The original painting features Santa Claus climbing a ladder from a pilot boat to board a tanker. Rogers generously donated the painting to the society for the raffle. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the society’s efforts to continue offering a rich and exciting array of activities that engage visitors and promote Lewes's unique heritage.
