Lewes library to host history book sale Sept. 29
In conjunction with the Lewes History Book Festival, the Friends of the Lewes Public Library will host a sale of used, rare, and collectible history books from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, at the library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes. Nearly 4,000 books will be available, at prices 30-50 percent lower than internet prices on Amazon, Bookfinder, etc. The selection will cover a wide range of topics within ancient, modern, and local history, and include biographies of historical figures.
The History Book Sale at the Lewes Public Library includes books covering American history including Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War; Russian history including the Soviet military; Chinese history; and biographies of important figures in U.S. and international history such as presidents, military figures, and others. Also for sale are an extensive collection of books about T. E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia), other rare and collectible books, and $2 books that will provide items of interest to historians at every level.
Admission to the History Book Sale is free. Sale proceeds benefit the Friends of the Lewes Public Library, a separate 501c(3) affiliate of contributing members who support the Lewes Public Library. Funds will be used for book and media purchases, library programming, special projects, and other library needs.
