Lewes man dies in Georgetown crash
A Lewes man died Feb. 20 following a crash about midnight near Georgetown.
Police said a 2016 Chrysler 300 driven by Shane Durham, 44, was traveling southbound on Bethesda Road, south of Zoar Road, when it crossed into the path of a 2015 Mack LEU-613 garbage truck that was heading northbound on Bethesda Road and slowing down for a stop. As the Chrysler crossed into the northbound lane into the path of the Mack, police said, the left front of the Chrysler impacted the left front of the Mack.
The driver of the Mack, an Ellendale man, 49, was not injured. Durham was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bethesda Road was closed for about four hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
