Lewes Steps Out presents award for perfect attendance

November 3, 2011

The Lewes Steps Out For Fitness 2011 edition included an incentive for walkers to show up at every sign-in event at Lewes Beach. Those with perfect attendance had their registration cards entered into a drawing for a one-year's membership at Quest Fitness and a $100 gift certificate from a choice of several Lewes restaurants that provided gift meals during this year's Lewes Steps Out Event. In all, there were 28 walkers who showed up for every sign-in event.  They were part of hundreds of walkers who used pedometers to record their steps each week and help Lewes accumulate thousands of walking miles during the summer months.

Beverly Fredericks was the lucky winner of the prizes.  She was accompanied to the prize presentation by Ray Prybylowsky who, in 2007, recorded the most steps of all participants that year.

Lewes Steps Out for Fitness is sponsored by Beebe Medical Center, City of Lewes. Lewes Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, Nemours Health and Prevention Services, Lewes Volunteer Fire Department, Quest Fitness and Cape Gazette. The 2012 version of the walking program will start in mid-June.
