Lincoln man faces 10th DUI charge

A Lincoln man faces his 10th driving under the influence charge after police say he was swerving July 5 while driving along a Lincoln roadway.

Delaware State Police observed a black Acura RL at 9:15 p.m. fail to maintain its lane going westbound on Greely Avenue near Greentop Road. When the trooper stopped the car, police said, the driver showed signs of impairment and was given sobriety tests. 

Police took Anthony Nesmith, 58, into custody and learned he had nine prior DUI convictions.

Nesmith was taken to Troop 7 where he was charged with felony driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and failure to remain within single lane. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $8,000 cash bond.
