Local teen band to release new music April 1
The power trio Hit & Run will release its new four-song EP, “Goodbye,” Friday, April 1, on all streaming platforms.
The group comprises three talented musicians and songwriters. Lewes residents are Alex Fitzkee, age 15, who handles drums and vocals, and his brother Drew Fitzkee, 17, on bass and vocals. Joining them on guitar and vocals is Tommy Oechsli, 18, from Salisbury, Md. They make for an energetic bunch of seasoned performers even at a young age.
Members have played or opened for the likes of Post Malone, Jorma Kaukonen, Jack Casady (Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna), Justin Guip (Hot Tuna), Robert Randolph, Paul Cullen (Bad Company), Tony Sciuto (Little River Band), and Foreigner at venues including the Freeman Arts Pavilion and WOCM Ocean 98 radio in Ocean City, Md.
The group will be making its fifth appearance on WBOC’s “Delmarva Life” at 5 p.m., April 1, to perform two of their originals.
The music was recorded and mixed by Frank Marchand at Mid-South Audio in Milton and mastered by Mike Monseur in Nashville.
The songs are best described as upbeat alternative rock ‘n’ roll, full of heartfelt, meaningful lyrics masterfully performed by the trio with musicianship well beyond their years.
The music industry is taking note as one of the group’s songs, “Alone With You” has already received radio airplay on the “Baltimore Hit Parade” on WTMD radio in Towson, Md.
Hit & Run will perform live on the big stage at Hudson Fields during the Rally for Our First Responders, set for 12 to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 15.
