Lunch With a Purpose supports Run Saniyah Run

Lunch With a Purpose/Coastal Delaware held its December event at the Baywood Clubhouse, hosted by Run Saniyah Run, an organization supporting special needs children and their parents.

Gia Love started the organization in 2021 after her daughter Saniyah passed away in 2020 at the age of 11. Saniyah was born with multiple disabilities, so Gia knew firsthand what types of help were needed. Through Run Saniyah Run, Gia and her husband Tone Love, with the help of many volunteers, now provide assistance in Saniyah’s memory with job training and life skills, babysitting, respite time, medical support, entertainment, personal assistance, shopping and counseling.

Funds raised at the luncheon totaled $7,100 with $3,970 in the form of in-kind donations. Food donations exceeded 800 pounds. For more information about the organization’s important work, go to runsaniyahrun.org. 

Higher Ground Outreach will be the beneficiary of the Lunch With a Purpose event Wednesday, Jan. 10, at the Atlantic Sands Hotel ballroom in Rehoboth Beach.
