Man charged in murder of Milford woman, child

A Milford man faces murder charges after police say he killed a woman and child June 5 in Milford.
Police responded at 4:45 a.m. to the 500 block of S. DuPont Boulevard where they found a 31-year-old man bleeding from his head. They later responded to a home in the 6000 block of Pebblebrook Drive in the Brookstone Trace development where they found Mercedes Ortiz, 31, and 3-year-old Aloni Truong, both dead. The man was taken to an area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
That evening, police said they arrested of Davis Truong, 31, in connection with the double homicide. Truong was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. Truong was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to prison on $2,200,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas June 13 for a preliminary hearing.
