Mary Ann Smith, had love for life

Mary Ann Smith, 83, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away at home Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016. She was born Saturday, Sept. 24, 1932, in Chester, Pa., daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Mosher) Schureman.

Mrs. Smith worked for 20 years as a crossing guard for schools in Upper Chichester, Pa. After retiring to Rehoboth Beach, she worked for Roses and Lowes. Mrs. Smith loved life. She enjoyed bingo and bowling, and had a great love for all animals. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons: Wayne, John and David Smith; her daughters: Lori Ann Smith and Kim Ann Thorp; her grandchildren: Christopher, Michael, Marc, Wesly, Lee, and Summer; her great-grandchildren; Donavan, Savannah, Cameron, Nixon and Natalie; and her siblings: George Schureman, Dorothy Elliot, Joan and Deanna Mellace, Gay Schureman and Barbara Capman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m., at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Ave., Rehoboth Beach, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow the services at the Epworth Methodist Cemetery, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Smith's name to the SPCA, 22918 Dupont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947.

Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
