Mary Maureen Ryan-Beaudin, passionate nurse
Mary Maureen Ryan-Beaudin, 89, of Georgetown, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Delaware Hospice Center. She was born May 19, 1933, in the Bronx, N.Y., the beloved daughter of the late Michael and Mary (McGuyan) Flahive.
After graduating high school, Mary’s passion to help those around her led to a lifelong career in nursing. After earning her associate degree and becoming a registered nurse, she expertly and lovingly cared for thousands of patients during her career at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, N.J. Later in her career, she went on to become the co-owner of Modern Care Nursing Agency, which gave her a great sense of pride and fulfillment.
Mary was active in the communities she lived in and was formerly a member of the Emerson New Jersey Ambulance Corp. After moving to southern Delaware, she became a member of American Legion Post 17 of Lewes. She enjoyed spending time and made many friendships as a member of the Red Hat Society and also served as a Columbiette in several parishes. Above all else, the time she spent with those she held dear to her heart was what she cherished most. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Loved by many, she will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Thomas V. Ryan; her beloved daughters, Mary Ryan and Eileen Ryan Bradley; and her precious great-granddaughter, Sage Ritchie.She is survived by her loving husband, Leo Cullen Beaudin of Georgetown; her children, Thomas Ryan (Joann), Kathleen George (Gregory), and Michael Ryan (Jenie); her grandchildren, Casey Ryan, Sean Ryan (Megan), Kevin Ryan, Kelly Ryan, Kendal George, Kelsey George Costa (Andrew), Nikki Bradley Ritchie (Darren), Kelly Bradley and Thomas Bradley; her great-grandchildren, Kenzie Ryan, Carson Costa, Kaden Ritchie, Cierra Ritchie, Skylor Boyle, Kirkpatrick Boyle and Sapphire Boyle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 27, at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
