MERR seeks yard sale donations
The Marine Education, Research and Rehabilitation Institute Inc. will begin accepting donated items Monday, April 3, for its annual yard sale.
Anyone who has an item to donate for the event may call 302-228-5029, or email merrinstitute@gmail.com to arrange a convenient drop-off time. All donations are tax deductible.
The yard sale is set for 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 13, at the facility at 801 Pilottown Road next to the Coast Guard Station, Lewes.
All funds raised during the event will go to support the year-round efforts of this nonprofit organization that serves as the first response for all marine mammals and sea turtles stranding in Delaware, providing food and care, paying veterinary bills, transporting and purchasing supplies.
MERR also hosts a number of outreach endeavors in which representatives travel to area schools to inform students about marine mammals and sea turtles found in the region. For more information, go to merrinstitute.org.
