MERR yard sale donations welcome April 15-May 8
The Marine Education, Research and Rehabilitation Institute Inc. will hold its annual yard sale from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, May 10, at the MERR facility at 801 Pilottown Road next to the Coast Guard Station, Lewes. The rain date is Saturday, May 17.
MERR will be accepting donated items for its annual yard sale from Tuesday, April 15 through Thursday, May 8. To donate items for the sale, call 302-410-8700 or email merrinstitute@gmail.com.
One of MERR’s major fundraisers, the sale will feature its usual assortment of items for home and garden, and a bake sale with an array of homemade treats.
All funds raised during the event will go to support the year-round efforts of this nonprofit organization that serves as the first response for all marine mammals and sea turtles stranding in Delaware, providing food and care, paying veterinary bills, transporting and purchasing supplies.
MERR also hosts a number of outreach endeavors in which representatives travel to area schools to inform students about marine mammals and sea turtles found in the region. For more information, go to merrinstitute.org.
