Milton to hold park and tree lighting event Nov. 25

November 16, 2017

The Town of Milton invites all to the annual park and tree lighting celebration beginning at 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 25.

Started several years ago by then-Mayor Marion Jones, the lighting has quickly become a Milton holiday tradition. This free event continues this year, hosted by The Milton Community Foundation, which will provide cookies for all. The Milton Lions Club will have lots of hot chocolate to warm everyone’s innards and keep the vocal cords lubricated for singing. The Water's Edge Church will provide music from the park gazebo stage. There may even be strolling carolers.

The town's public works team led by Gregg Wingo will be decking the park with more than 30,000 lights to brighten up what usually is a frosty night. The celebration begins at 6 p.m. with the lighting to take place at 6:30 p.m. All are encouraged to grab a warm coat and gloves, and join with friends and neighbors as Milton kicks off the holidays. For more information, call 302-684-4110.
