Members of the community joined Milton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6984 at Milton Memorial Park May 29 for a solemn, intimate ceremony honoring those service members who lost their lives fighting for the United States.
The ceremony included speeches from Milton Vice Mayor Kevin Kelly and Milton Police Department Chief Robert Longo, who reflected on the history of the holiday and applauded the military’s commitment to the country.
“Memorial Day is set aside to remember the valor displayed by the fallen and the families they’ve left behind,” Longo said. “I, for one, am grateful for them all.”
