Milton man charged after shooting Lincoln man outside Felton bar
A Milton man faces felony assault and gun charges after police say he shot a Lincoln man in the arm Jan. 7 outside the Green Stinger Sports Bar in Felton.
The shooting happened about 1:30 a.m. at the bar at 9996 South Dupont Highway when a group of people who were arguing inside the bar continued to argue in the parking lot after the bar closed, police said. The shooting happened about 1:30 a.m. when police said Terry Bratton, 66, was pointing a gun at people before pulling the gun from his right side and shooting a man, 28, from Lincoln. The Lincoln man was treated at an area hospital for a gunshot wound to his arm.
When police arrived, they said they found Bratton in the parking lot with a gun, and they took him into custody without incident.
Bratton was taken to Troop 3 where he was charged with felony first-degree assault, felony possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, six counts of first-degree reckless endangering, four counts of terroristic threatening, and possession of a firearm while under the influence.
Bratton was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $161,000 secured bond.
