Summer might be coming to a close, but the fun never stops at the Milton Theatre.
Introducing children to the theatre at a young age encourages creativity and creates lifelong lovers of the arts. That’s why the Milton Theatre is committed to hosting kid-friendly events for even the youngest of guests. Throughout fall and winter, the theatre will be offering a variety of child-oriented events such as animated movie screenings, magic shows and other interactive entertainment.
The fall session of musical theatre ensemble and triple threat children’s programs will begin Wednesday, Sept. 12. Children ages 6 to 16 years can join a 16-week program in dancing, singing and acting, culminating in a grand production Friday and Saturday, Jan. 11 and 12, for two shows open to the public. Participants also will perform live Sunday, Nov. 11 at Disney Kids’ Cabaret as they sing and re-enact Disney classics.
Milton Zombie Fest will return Saturday, Oct. 20, to feature live music, costumes and makeup, and the crowd-favorite Zombie Walk. Kids will love the chance to dress up and walk like a zombie at this annual event. Adults can enjoy the beer tent and food trucks as well. There will be exclusive kids’ activities hosted by the Milton Public Library.
Families might consider bringing kids to Trick Trio interactive magic show for the matinee or evening shows Friday, Nov. 16. In this show, Ben Zabin, Trent James and David Rosentein, three young and very different magicians, join forces to create one enchanting show filled with humor, pop culture and, of course, magic!
There are a variety of kid-friendly interactive movie screenings throughout the fall and winter. Attendees may feel free to dress up and sing along to Pixar’s “Coco” Sunday, Oct. 28; “The Greatest Showman” Sunday, Nov. 18; and “The Polar Express” Sunday, Dec. 9.
A variety of holiday-themed shows will keep the younger crowd entertained and excited throughout December, including the Cartoon Christmas Trio Sunday, Dec. 2. This jazz trio will perform all the classic favorite classic Christmas tunes. The “Bluegrass Nutcracker” performance will take a brand-new look at classic Christmas tunes with banjos, fiddles and more Saturday, Dec. 8.
And lastly, the theatre will host a holiday tea Sunday, Dec. 16. Kids will love the chance to have tea and cookies with their favorite characters at this interactive show.
