Mini jazz festival slated Oct. 16-18
The CBD COVID be Damned Mini Jazz Festival will take place Friday, Oct. 16 to Sunday, Oct. 18.
“We want you to vaccinate your soul of COVID-19, and come and help us celebrate Music for the Cure. It will be three days with five great shows in a social distancing venue with limited seating for your safety that will comply with the COVID-19 guidelines, “ said organizer Dennis Santangini.
Bassist Gerald Veasley will perform with vocalist Carol Riddick at 9:30 p.m., Friday, inside at the Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach. Only 90 seats are available.
Pamela Stanley and the Pamela Stanley Band will play jazz classics and hits from the past from 7 to 10 p.m., Friday, at The Pines in Rehoboth Beach, 56 Baltimore Ave. For reservations, go to thepinesrb.com.
A free concert with JJ Sansaverino is set for 1:30 p.m., Saturday, on the Rusty Rudder’s outside tented deck. Attendees will hear his latest hit radio single “Midnight Fizz” and many other hits from his latest CD. This will be a first-come, first-seated event due to COVID-19 guidelines.
Guitarist, singer and songwriter Matt Marshak will perform some songs from his new CD “Simple Man” at 4 p.m., Saturday, inside the Rusty Rudder; only 90 seats are available.

Jazz saxophonist Art Sherrod Jr. and trombonist Jeff Bradshaw, a soul-jazz and hip-hop/funk innovator, will play at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 18, inside the Rusty Rudder, with 90 seats available.
Gerald Veasley, Carol Riddick and Alex Bugnon will perform together at the closing party set for 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, inside the Rusty Rudder. The ticket price of $85 includes a dinner buffet. Open seating in the restaurant will be first-come, first-choice with social distancing. Patrons must wear masks to enter the restaurant and the show area, and can remove them when seated. No food is permitted in the show area.
