Miss Delaware pageant to be held June 16 at Cape High in Lewes

The Miss Delaware Scholarship Organization has announced that the Miss Delaware competition has returned to the Delaware beach communities and will be held Friday, June 16, beginning at 7 p.m. at Cape Henlopen High School. Doors open at 6:40 p.m.

"We are pleased to announce that 14 young women will be vying for the title of Miss Delaware," said MDSO Board President Brian Martinenza. "We are excited to see who will represent The First State this year. We are also pleased to be returning to the beach communities after 10 years in Dover. Cape Henlopen High School is a great venue for our state pageant."

Contestants include Miss Blue-Gold, Taylor Johnson, Laurel; Miss Tri-County, Cierra Major-Colazzo, Newark; Miss Brandywine, Jenna Hitchens, Georgetown; Miss Capitol, Charity Cramer, Wilmington; Miss Christiana, Michelle Ley, Wilmington; Miss Diamond State, Rachel Buckler, Georgetown; Miss Dover, Donata Leckie, Wilmington; Miss Greenville, Danielle Taylor, Lewes; Miss Hockessin, Kaylynn Pride, New Castle; Miss New Castle County, Emily Beale, Lincoln University, Pa.; Miss Newark, Chelsea Bruce, Manasquan N.J.; Miss Southern Delaware, Lauren Haberstroh, Middletown; Miss Dewey Beach, Sophie Phillips, Katonah, N.Y.; and Miss Wilmington, Rebecca Gasperetti, Magnolia.

Tickets are $50 for orchestra and $35 for mezzanine. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.missde.org
