In recognition of Native American Heritage Month, the Nanticoke Indian Association hosted Native American Day at its Millsboro museum Nov. 6.

There were museum tours, traditional dancing and singing, Native American flute performances, storytelling, and Native American vendors and food.

Keith Colston, who has been an emcee for the Round Dance during the Nanticoke Indian Powwow, was a guest speaker. There was also special recognition of the Nanticoke Indian Dance Troupe.

A historic marker dedication for the Indian Mission School, now the Nanticoke Indian Center, has been scheduled for 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 15. The tribe established the school at the site, 27073 John J. Williams Highway, Millsboro, in the 1920s to educate Nanticoke students.
