National Guard leader to keynote Milford Memorial Day event May 30
Charles Garrod, Milford Veterans Affairs Committee chair, recently announced Maj. Gen. Michael R. Berry as the keynote speaker for the 2022 Milford Memorial Day ceremony.
The event will begin at 10 a.m., Monday, May 30, at the Milford Senior Center, 111 Park Ave., and will include the Milford Community Band playing patriotic music.
Berry serves as adjutant general of Delaware’s National Guard units, holding responsibility for the mission readiness of all units, which includes more than 1,500 soldiers and 1,100 airmen, for both federal and state missions.
Berry is a lifelong resident of the First State and a retired Delaware State Police trooper. He is married to Brig. Gen. Karen Berry, a former Delaware National Guard member who is currently serving as joint staff director with the Connecticut National Guard.
