Hoophall East at Slam Dunk to the Beach returned to Cape Henlopen High School’s Big House Dec. 26-29 with 16 boys’ teams and four girls’ squads slated to take to the hardwood. The boys’ field included three teams featured in ESPN’s most recent SCNext Top 25: No. 8 St. Paul VI (Va.), No. 13 Combine Academy (N.C.) and 18th-ranked Long Island Lutheran (N.Y.). Highly touted teams from nine states converged on Lewes for a 13-game slate packed with blue-chip talent. Since its inception in 1990, Slam Dunk has hosted dozens of eventual NBA players, including superstars like LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Dwight Howard.
