This fall, Heidi Lowe Gallery will be offering a couple of inspiring jewelry-making classes for adults and one class for kids ages 11 to 13.
All these in-person classes cover important fundamentals of working in metal and jewelry making in a fun, creative studio environment.
“Join us in the studio to make some jewelry and some friends this fall! Put down those screens and get your hands making your own jewelry in our class,” said Lowe.
In a powder coating class, participants learn the process of adding a colorful finish to their metal pieces. Students will learn how to make a layered landscape pendant of their own design with a vibrant, custom powder-coated finish. The Powder Coating Class - Layered Landscape Pendant meets for four sessions, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesdays, Aug. 31 to Sept. 21. Cost is $375 per person.
The Intro to Jewelry Class is a deeper dive into the basic techniques and tools of jewelry making. The first class project will be making a silver chain bracelet with a toggle clasp. Students will then learn how to make their own charms, one of which will include a stone setting. Intro to Jewelry Making - Charm Bracelet class meets for eight sessions, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Thursdays, Sept. 15 to Nov. 3. Cost is $750.
Heidi Lowe Gallery hasn’t forgotten the younger creatives and will offer an eight-week Kids Metals Class for eight sessions, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Tuesdays, Sept. 13 to Nov. 1. In this fun class, participants will make their own unique group of pendants to reflect who they are and what interests them. They learn a variety of skills including soldering with a torch, to create their own designs that will be put onto a necklace when finished. Cost is $375. To register, students must be ages 11 to 13.
