Next Gen South announces grant ceremony Nov. 13
The Next Generation of Southern Delaware, a giving circle of the Delaware Community Foundation, has announced its Annual Grants Ceremony to be held at Gilligan’s in Lewes Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m.
Funds raised from Next Gen South’s annual Chowdown for Charity, held last February in Dover, will be awarded to two organizations at the ceremony: Compassionate Hearts and Jewish Family Services of Delaware. Each organization will receive $7,500.
Compassionate Hearts is based out of Lincoln, and their mission is to incorporate the healing power of horses to provide quality, effective equine assisted psychotherapy and personal development programming at no cost to those otherwise unable to access services. They focus on women, children, families and their caregivers.
Jewish Family Services’ mission is to strengthen individuals, families and the community by providing counseling and support services. Inspired by the fundamental Jewish value, "We are all responsible for one another," JFS supports people of all backgrounds by assisting families through life transitions, helping youth and children grow stronger, and ensuring the safety and dignity of older adults.

Next Gen South is a philanthropic organization created and directed by young professionals living and working in Kent and Sussex counties. TNG utilizes many of the Delaware Community Foundation’s resources, but members have established their own structure to raise funds and support the community. Next Gen South is currently raising money to support programs for addiction and support services.
