Oldfather Group names MVPs for 2016

December 21, 2016

The owners of the Oldfather Group of Ocean Atlantic Sotheby's International Realty in Rehoboth Beach recognized two of their own during a brief ceremony at the firm's Rehoboth Avenue office Dec. 12. Lewes native Bob Burton was named the firm's Agent MVP for 2016 while Client Success Team Director Stephanie Moyer was named Key Personnel MVP for the year.

Burton has been a licensed agent in Delaware since 2012 after retiring from a long career as an operations program manager in the Washington, D.C. area, where he worked on private Department of Defense contracts. He grew up in Lewes and was a member of one of Cape Henlopen High School's first graduating classes, in 1971. He also attended William C. Jason Comprehensive High School in Georgetown, which was the only area high school for minority students in the 1960s.

Burton obtained his associate's degree in manufacturing engineering at Delaware Technical and Community College, and his bachelor's degree in manufacturing management from the University of Maryland, before working most of his career in the Washington, D.C. area. He was chosen for this award by firm owners Dustin and Mariya Oldfather due to a record sales year, as well as his willingness to assist other agents when various needs arise. Burton sold 22 homes in 2016, accounting for more than $5 million in business.

"We are so fortunate that both Bob and Steph have chosen to build their careers and lives with us," says Dustin Oldfather, the firm's chief executive. "Bob brings a gentle kindness to all of his dealings, which coupled with his relentless approach and lifelong experience in the area, has allowed him to assist an extraordinary 22 clients buy or sell a home this year."

Moyer is a 2001 graduate of Salisbury University. She specializes in managing the day-to-day activities in what has become one of the busiest real estate offices at the Delaware beaches. "Steph has been a lynchpin and driving force in developing our client success team to process nearly 300 contracts in 2016. She is thoughtful, professional and sincere in making an impact on the lives of our clients," says Oldfather. "She also works tirelessly and often into the evening to make the contract to closing process as painless and stress free as possible for our clients. Both Bob and Steph are beloved by us all."
