Solo exhibition to open at Back Porch Café Aug. 29
August 22, 2024

Delaware artist Liz Ornston will be exhibiting her work in two upcoming art shows in Rehoboth.

Ornston has a painting in the Rehoboth Art League’s Regional Juried Biennial Exhibition that runs from Friday, Aug. 23 to Sunday, Sept. 22, at 12 Dodds Lane, Henlopen Acres. A reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Aug. 23.

A solo show of Ornston’s work will start Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Back Porch Café, 59 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach. All are welcome to an opening reception from 3 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Back Porch.

Ornston grew up in Dover and Wilmington, and after living in New York City for 40 years, she has returned to Delaware. She lives in Lewes and spends part of each week in Wilmington helping her brother care for their mom, who just turned 93.

Orston always loved making art; she majored in art history in college but ultimately became a clinical psychologist. She continues to work as a psychotherapist and started to paint again about 10 years ago. She creates representational works like landscapes and still lifes, as well as abstract pieces. With paintings full of color and light, Orston is excited to be making art again and to be showing it in the Cape Region.
