Orthopedic confab draws healthcare professionals from across Delmarva
Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates hosted a continuing medical education event Oct. 17 at Rehoboth Beach Country Club that attracted more than 75 healthcare professionals, fostering a vibrant environment for education, networking and collaboration.
The evening featured esteemed speakers who presented information about comprehensive advances in orthopaedic care. Experts and their topic areas were: Dr. Ana Mata-Fink: Innovations in Shoulder Arthroplasty; Dr. Shalin Patel: Spinal eXtreme Lateral Interbody Fusion; Dr. Jason Scopp: ACL Reconstruction Update: Grafts to Biologics; Dr. Michal Klek: Total Hip Arthroplasty; Dr. Wilson Choy: Advances in Total Knee Replacement; and Dr. Greg Kirwan: Patient-Specific Instrumentation and Implants: Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Attendees discussed the latest innovations in shoulder, spine, joint preservation and orthobiologics; knee and hip joint replacements; and foot and ankle treatments, emphasizing the importance of ongoing education in the ever-evolving healthcare landscape. Lively question-and-answer sessions facilitated a dynamic exchange of ideas and experiences. Healthcare professionals were able to connect with peers and industry leaders from a variety of disciplines, strengthening collaboration.
“To the best of my knowledge, this was the first time we had orthopedists gather in one setting who perform surgeries at POA Surgery Center, TidalHealth, Beebe, Atlantic General Hospital and Bayhealth,” said Kemuel Carey, chief executive officer. “This CME event not only provided valuable insights into the progress of orthopaedic surgery from the shoulder to the foot and ankle, but also reinforced the importance of building connections within our medical community.”
