Patricia A. Cassidy, award-winning artist
Patricia A. Cassidy, 68, of Rehoboth Beach passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019 surrounded by her family and friends. Patricia was born in New York City, N.Y., Dec. 31, 1950, and spent her childhood years in Bayside before she moved to the Washington, D.C. area, where she was in her late teens.
Patricia had an adventurous life and enjoyed art, traveling, reading, and above all, cooking.
Patricia was always an artist. She won several awards at local art exhibits in northern Virginia. Patricia also taught art to middle school children in the Fairfax School System. She was a researcher for Time-Life books and an art editor for the Civil War Magazine.
Patricia will always be remembered as lively, creative, kind and beautiful.
Patricia will be missed by her husband, Bruce Selman; son Andrew Lewis; daughter-in-law Sara; and granddaughter, Sloane. Patricia also leaves behind her mother, Agnus; and her siblings: Joseph, James, Robert, Maryellen and Anne.
A Memorial Service will be held Jan. 25, 2020, for Patricia at the Advent Lutheran Church, a church that she helped design and make the stained-glass windows, 2222 S Arlington Ridge Road, Arlington, Va.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
