Nearly 100 participate in annual canoe, kayak race

The Broadkill River was bustling Aug. 26 as 85 people participated in the annual kayak and canoe race.
Although the ducks weren’t dumped from a fire truck this year, onlookers still enjoyed watching them race in hopes of winning the raffle.
One-year-old Dylan White of Milton seemed to enjoy the beautiful day.
Amy and Patrick Conroy of Beachscapes by Amy and PC Rods were among local vendors at the annual Bargains on the Broadkill in Milton Memorial Park Aug. 26.

Water-sport enthusiasts kicked off the event with the 18th annual Broadkill River Canoe & Kayak Race sponsored by Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant. About 85 people participated in the 10-mile race that began at Oyster Rocks Road.
