Police investigating Ellendale homicide
A 28-year-old Ellendale man was found dead June 1 after being shot during a domestic dispute.
Police say at 10:47 p.m., troopers were called to a house on S. Old State Road in Ellendale where the man was found shot with a wound to the chest in the front yard. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, police say.
A preliminary investigation found that during an altercation between the man and a woman, the woman pulled a gun and shot him in the chest. Police say the woman fled in an unknown direction. Both the victim and the alleged shooter’s names were withheld by police pending further investigation.
