Police: Milford man steals Tesla Cybertruck
A Milford man faces charges after police say he stole a Tesla Cybertruck from a Lincoln home May 18.
Police responded at 8:10 a.m. to a home on Brick Granary Road for a stolen vehicle report and learned a 2024 silver Tesla Cybertruck with temporary New Jersey registration was stolen from the property, police said. Troopers used the Tesla’s tracking capability to find the truck on a dirt path off Pinecone Drive, police said, but the driver, Corey Cohee, 41, drove onto Pinecone Drive and disregarded all police signals to stop as the vehicle continued toward Brick Granary Road. After a brief pursuit, police said, the Tesla came to a stop on Brick Granary Road, and Cohee was taken into custody without incident.
Cohee was taken to Troop 7 where he was charged with felony theft of a motor vehicle, disregarding a police officer signal, criminal trespass and failure to have license in possession. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of a $4,002 secured bond.
