Police: Teen to face murder charge in Millsboro shooting
A 19-year-old Millsboro teen has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Millsboro.
Police responded at 10:47 a.m., June 4, to Saint Thomas Boulevard in the town limits of Millsboro. Upon arrival, police found Jordaan Brummell, 26, of Millsboro, who had been shot. Police began life-saving efforts but the man later died at an area hospital.
Police said Malachi Waters approached the victim and starting shooting before fleeing in a car.
A short time later, police said detectives saw Waters’ car and, with the assistance of Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team, stopped the car in Delmar near the Delaware-Maryland line. Waters fled the scene, police said, but was apprehended in Delmar, Md.
Upon extradition to Delaware, police said, he will be charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
