May 3, 2018

The Possum Point Players theater group is now seeking directors for the 2019 Main Stage Season.

The shows, with title, author, publishing house, show type and approximate 2019 production time frame (subject to change) are: "Arsenic and Old Lace," Joseph Kesselring, Samuel French, comedy, late January; "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying," written by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, Music Theater International, Broadway musical, spring; "Dixie Swim Club," Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, Jamie Wooten, Dramatists Play Service, comedy, summer; and "Sleuth," Anthony Shaffer, Samuel French, drama/mystery, late summer.

The PPP holiday show to be performed in early December will be an original revue selected from submissions by potential directors. Directors will submit at least a working title and an outline of their proposal, adding as much substance as feasible. The proposal should also include, but not be limited to: theme and brief outline of the show, cast size, music to be included (either specifics or examples), set design idea or plan, and any other special requirements their show might have.

For more information and applications, contact Jim Hartzell, director selection chair, at jlhart8@mchsi.com or 302-856-6166.

There are two application forms for potential directors, one for those who have directed PPP shows before, and one for those who have not. Application forms may be obtained from Hartzell or PPP Executive Administrator Dawn Conaway at executiveadministrator@possumpointplayes.org or 302-856-3460. To download forms go to www.possumpointplayers.org.
