In a sign of appreciation for all the hard work done by Rehoboth Beach staff throughout the year, the Rehoboth Beach Homeowners’ Association presented those city staff members with a free breakfast at city hall Nov. 18. Staff also received a thank-you card from RBHA that included a $15 gift card to Rise Up.

RBHA President Pam Baker said it’s important for city employees to know how much they’re appreciated for all the hard work they do. They keep the city going behind the scenes, she said.

Board members joining Baker to hand out food and cards included RBHA Treasurer Steve Curson, Clif Hilderlay and Patrisha Davis.

In addition to RBHA members, a few city commissioners also attended, including Mayor Stan Mills and Commissioners Edward Chrzanowski, Patrick Gossett and Jay Lagree.

The appreciation event isn’t new for the RBHA. The homeowners association did something similar before the pandemic.

In an email Nov. 19, Davis said 72 of 107 employees attended in person. Managers will distribute the thank-you notes and gift cards to those employees who could not attend, she said.

Looking to next year, Davis said RBHA welcomes other ideas and input from residents to help the organization recognize the great work done by employees of the city.
