Rehoboth in Bloom celebrates five years with pizza party

Rehoboth in Bloom celebrated five years of beautifying downtown Rehoboth Beach with a pizza party Oct. 25.

An arm of Rehoboth Beach Main Street, the all-volunteer group has about 70 volunteers and maintains about 100 large flower boxes throughout much of the downtown commercial district. This past year, the group also spearheaded the replanting of the canalside garden next to the Rehoboth Beach Museum on the western end of Rehoboth Avenue.

The party was held at city hall in the third-floor meeting room, and every seat was taken. Rehoboth in Bloom founder Cindy Lovett gushed over the group and congratulated everyone for all the hard work they’ve done over the past year.

Rehoboth Beach Main Street holds this group in such high esteem, said Lovett. Every time they talk about what Main Street does for the community, Rehoboth in Bloom is right there at the top, she said.

In addition to the food and camaraderie, Rehoboth in Bloom recognized the 18 people who have participated all five years. Those members received special embroidered hats.
