Ribbon cut for newly renovated Country Corners Market

September 16, 2018

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting at the Country Corners Market in Georgetown. The event celebrated the grand reopening of the market after it had been closed for several months during extensive renovations.

Because the most recent renovation had been nearly 20 years ago, the Country Corners Market owners felt the building needed to be updated. After they pulled back a few layers, decided that a full renovation was in order. “After about a year of planning and site work we were very excited to unveil the outcome,” said Operations Manager Lori Baker Vieira. “As a small convenience store chain, it’s important to maintain business with what keeps them coming back through the doors.”

In addition to fuel pumps and basic convenience store fare, the nine Country Corners Markets throughout southern Delaware have built a solid reputation through their offerings of burgers, cheesesteaks, subs, homemade salads and cakes, and, as of last year, the famous Chicken Man fried chicken.

More parking has been added, as well as ordering kiosks, Delaware State Lottery tickets and expanded restroom facilities.

Beaming with excitement over the grand opening of the practically new store, Vieira said, “We are extremely pleased with the turnout for business so far and humbled from the amount of community support. Georgetown has been very loyal to us through the years, and we truly appreciate being a go-to spot for the locals.”

The newly renovated Country Corners Market is at 22168 Dupont Blvd., Georgetown. For more information, go to www.countrycornersmarket.com or call 302-856-7991.
