Roger William Shafer, dedicated painter
Roger William Shafer passed away peacefully at home in Laurel Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Jan. 8, 1966, in East Stroudsburg, Pa., beloved son of Edwin and Edna (Pugh) Shafer.
Roger worked as a dedicated painter throughout his life. In his free time, he found joy in leatherworking and woodworking, and had a deep passion for trains, which he loved throughout his life.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Kim A. Shafer; and his cherished daughters, Mandilee Kerprich (John), Marina Wharton (Bradley Sr.) and Kelsey Jarvis (Storm). Roger was also a proud grandfather to Elijah Kerprich, Ethan Kerprich, Bradley Wharton Jr., Evangeline Wharton and Kali Jarvis. He is further survived by his sisters, Rose McHugh, Alice Bergen, Joann Shafer, Deanna Thomson and Virginia Coleman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held in Roger's honor at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro. A visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m.
Roger's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
