Ronald L. Massey, charter bus driver
Ronald L. Massey, 75, of Long Neck, formerly of Chatham, Pa., passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016.
He was the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Miller) Massey. In the 60s Ron drove a truck for the Farm Bureau in West Chester, Pa., and Gindy Trailer Co. in Eagle, Pa. In the 70s Ron and Sheila owned and operated Ron's Mobil & Towing Co. in Chatham. In the 80s Ron went to work for the University of Pennsylvania at the New Bolton Center in Kennett Square as fleet manager. Ron retired in 2001, moved to Delaware and worked part time driving charter buses for Jor-Lin Tours in Milford, and the CHEER Senior Center in Ocean View.
Ron was a lifetime member of the West Grove Fire Company. He enjoyed spending time at the beach house with Sheila, fishing and golf cart rides with his grandson, Jacob.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Kenneth Massey in 2006. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sheila K. (Curry) Massey; three daughters, Kelly Stanton of Coatsville, Pa., Karen Geesey of Abottstown, Pa., and Kay Okino of Frederick, Md.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
