Rosedale Beach Boat Ramp opens ahead of schedule

July 1, 2015

Upgrades to the Rosedale Beach Boat Ramp near Millsboro are now complete, in time for the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

The work, which started June 24, was completed June 26, five days ahead of schedule, with full access restored to the boat ramp, said Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control officials.

Improvements included replacing dock walkways, installing floating aluminum courtesy docks, ramp repairs and filling a large hole at the end of the ramp. The hole was created by power loading boats at the ramp, a practice the Division of Fish and Wildlife advises against, officials said.

With proper care from the boating and angling public, officials said, the upgrades at the Rosedale Beach Boat Ramp will provide enhanced boat launching in Sussex County for many years.
