Ruth G. Morgan, huge Elvis fan

October 13, 2022

Ruth G. Morgan, 75, of Millsboro, passed away Monday, Oct.3, 2022, peacefully at home. She was born and raised in Pennsylvania but Delaware has been her home now for over 30 years. Ruth was the oldest of three children born to the late Wenonah and John J. Culin Jr.

She loved spending time with family and friends either playing games, working on crafts, or just watching TV. She also enjoyed going out somewhere, especially if it included eating out. She always wanted to go to Long Neck Diner on Thursdays for pea soup, and she liked to go to Texas Roadhouse for a rack of ribs, baked potato and salad. But her all-time favorite place was Old Mill Crab House in Delmar, from the first day they opened in the spring until the closing day in the fall, she would try to find someone to take her there to get her crab legs.

She was a huge Elvis Presley fan, and even did a radio show on WRBG out of Millsboro every Sunday until about a year ago, where she had an hour of playing just Elvis music for other fans to hear. She has one whole room in her home of Elvis collectibles that looks like a mini museum. She held many jobs throughout her lifetime but her last one was at Weiss Market in Millsboro, where she continued to work until when she got sick last December.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son Kenneth Kassing Jr.; her brother Jack Culin III; 2 ex-husbands Kenneth Kassing Sr. and Herbert Morgan; and also a long-time companion Butch Morgan.

Ruth will always be in the hearts of those still here, her daughter, Wenonah Conley (companion Frank); her grandchildren, Martin Conley, Jessica Conley, Melissa Moore and Samantha; her sister, Tracy Fleetwood (husband Roger); nephew, Justin Fleetwood; niece, Madison Fleetwood; nephew, Jay Culin IV; one great-granddaughter, and another on the way.

A small service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20, at Community Church of Oak Orchard, 32615 Oak Orchard Road, Millsboro, with a luncheon to follow at the church.
