Sean Douglas Hurt, amazing chef
Sean Douglas Hurt, 38, of Glenwood Springs, Colo., passed away suddenly Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022. He was born June 25, 1983, in Fairfax, Va.
He is survived by his father, Douglas M. Hurt; son, Aiden Hurt; and daughter, Summer Hurt with his ex-wife, Melissa Weigle, all of the Cape Region; and sister, Christina Kreidell.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Snyder Hill; aunt, Janet Mathews; cousin, Elizabeth Hurt; three grandparents, Kay Coates, CDR David A. Hurt Jr., and Eva Moore Hurt.
Survivors include stepfather, Rodney Hill; grandfather, Louis Coates; brother, Brent Hurt; aunt, Debbie Kunin; cousins, Jennifer, Megan, and Danielle Kunin, Vicki Hurt, Jennifer Hurt, and Jane Hurt; uncles, David A. Hurt III, Donald Hurt, Dennis Hurt, and Gary Mathews; his godmother and cousin, Brenda Miller; and cousins, Ashleigh Miller and Melissa Miller, Joann Bjorensen, Kim LaFlamme, Paul Hurt, Kyle Hurt, Ross Hurt, Timothy Hurt, Amanda Hurt, David Creeden Hurt, Bradley Hurt, Chris Hurt, and Jeff Hurt.
Over the years, he developed a passion for culinary arts. He studied at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu, College of Culinary Arts in Atlanta, Ga. He completed his required internship with the Telluride Resort in Telluride, Colo. Through his passion for the culinary arts, he quickly established himself as a top chef in both the Washington, D.C. and Colorado areas. He particularly loved his scenic and peaceful Glenwood Springs with its hot springs and proximity to skiing.
He was a one-of-a-kind soul, amazing chef, who loved his family and friends dearly and will live in our hearts forever.
