Members of the Serafin Ensemble, a group of internationally acclaimed artists devoted to energetic, collaborative chamber music, will perform at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 10, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lewes.
This concert is one of several events in the 2023–24 season presented by the St. Cecilia Music Guild, which offers Sussex County residents a broad spectrum of music that has included classical, gospel, jazz and contemporary works by diverse musicians and composers. All events are free and open to the public.
The group, which takes its name from master violin maker Sanctus Serafin, includes string, wind and piano performers as well as vocalists. The ensemble evolved from the former Serafin String Quartet and continues the nearly two-decade-long Serafin legacy of presenting exceptional performances of small-ensemble repertoire.
The original string quartet served for nine years as Quartet in Residence at the University of Delaware and performed in the United Kingdom, as well as in 15 U.S. states, with its primary performance region in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is located at Second and Market streets in downtown Lewes. For a copy of this season’s program and more about the performers, go to StCeciliaGuild.org.
