SoDel Concepts awards 30 teacher grants to employees

Recipients worked for the hospitality group over the summer

Hayleigh Hammel, a second-grade teacher at West Seaford Elementary School, is one of 30 teachers to receive a $250 grant from SoDel Concepts. Hammel worked at the hospitality group’s Bluecoast Seafood Grill in Rehoboth last summer.
Sydney Pulcinella, who works at The Clubhouse at Baywood, is also a Long Neck Elementary School teacher. She and 29 other teachers and SoDel Concepts employees received $250 for supplies and learning programs.

SoDel Concepts recently distributed $250 grants to 30 teachers who worked with the Delaware hospitality group over the summer.

“These teachers go above and beyond for their students,” said Scott Kammerer, CEO of SoDel Concepts. “And in the busy summers, they are invaluable, hardworking employees in our restaurants. In both roles, they are vital to our community and our local economy.”

Over the years, recipients have used the SoDel Concepts grants to buy school supplies for the classroom and purchase items for students who can’t afford them. They’ve created libraries and welcoming spaces in the classroom, and they’ve launched programs to help students learn.

“We are happy to be able to play a small part in aiding with the resources to help students be successful,” Kammerer said.
