Southern Delaware Chorale sets spring concerts May 10

The Southern Delaware Chorale will present In Her Own Words: A Concert Celebrating Women and the Arts at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 10, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach. 

Featured will be works by female composers and poets throughout history, such as Hildegard von Bingen, Clara Schumann and Rosephanye Powell.

Contemporary classics on the program include “Big Yellow Taxi” by Joni Mitchell, “Let the River Run” by Carly Simon, and “You’ve Got a Friend” by Carol King.

“I think the audience will really appreciate the thoughtful and comprehensive choices of music. There is truly something for everyone to enjoy, and preparing for this concert has been a delight! It’s an honor to sing these pieces and celebrate the important women who have made significant contributions to our musical repertoire,” said Sarah Rose, co-director.
