St. John’s in Milford to host Oktoberfest Oct. 6-7
St. John the Apostle Church in Milford will celebrate its 30th annual German Oktoberfest from 6 to 10 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6, and from noon to 10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7, on the grounds of the church at 506 Seabury Ave., Milford.
The Funsters will play all evening Friday. The Oktoberfest international food court will be serving traditional German entrees along with Italian, Spanish, Polish and Irish offerings. Also available will be good old hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, Italian ice, funnel cake and homemade baked desserts.
For the kids, there will be games galore including inflatables such as the obstacle course, face painting, pumpkin painting, a petting zoo, fire truck rides and little train rides.
Dave Betz and his German orchestra will entertain attendees Saturday afternoon along with the Enzian (German) dancers and the McAleer School of Irish Dancing. At 4 p.m., Sean O’Reilly will entertain in Frank Sinatra style. From 6 to 10 p.m., the Glass Onion band will play.
Admission is free, and the entire event is cash only.
